Online Petition now setup - please share!

The link to our petition in support of the moratorium resolution is here:

www.change.org/actions/view/stop_transmission_line_clear_cutting_in_ny_update_psc_guidelines

The next step is to raise awareness about our petition and recruit people to join.

Here are the four most effective means of outreach based on the experience of other Change.org members:

Email your friends: The best first step is to email your friends and ask them to join. We've written sample email text below that you're welcome to use to get started.

Reach out to listserves that might be interested: The most effective way to reach a lot of people at once is to send a link to the petition out to an appropriate listserve or organizational email list that might be interested.

Spread the word on social sites like Twitter and Facebook: Use social media sites by sending the link to the petition out through your own accounts and encouraging others to do the same.

Grab a widget: You can grab a widget and put it on your website or blog or encourage other bloggers to include it on theirs. You can find the widget on the right side of the petition page.

Note that our petition will start to appear in the "recent petitions" sections of Change.org once we have recruited 5 people to join. Change.org will also send out the 3 campaigns with the most signatures each week to our list of 500,000 members, so if we're able to get enough people to join our petition, it has the potential to gain widespread attention.

Hey everyone,

I wanted to see if I could get your quick help. The GEF LORAX working group just started a petition on Change.org titled Stop Transmission Line Clear Cutting in NY & Update PSC Guidelines, and I'd love your support. You can sign the petition in less than 30 seconds by clicking the link below:

http://www.change.org/actions/view/stop_transmission_line_clear_cutting_in_ny_update_psc_guidelines

Top campaigns on Change.org get sent out to their entire membership, so together we can really make a difference.

Thanks so much for the help!

- Mark
